The bulk of the changes made by the update on 6/16/10 are related to support for revised credit card processing which is necessary so that CODIS and you are compliant with PCI (Payment Card Industry) Data Security Standards. This subject will be covered in more detail in a separate document.
In addition the following changes were made in this update.
A/R Statements
A new client option has been added that lets you create a separate output file that contains A/R statement for delinquent accounts.
Product File
A new flag has been added to the product file to prevent the automatic release on a current order of shippable backorder for the flagged part number. This can be used to avoid release of a backorder of whole goods with a current parts order.
Terms codes
Added the ability to automatically substitute the default terms code on a type 4 (special order) backorder with an alternate terms code.
Promo Codes
You can now define a promotional pricing code that forces a specific order type for the order that uses the promo code. This allows you to invoke overrides associated with an order type (i.e. special terms code) as a result of using a specific promo code.
Freight terms
We have added the ability to specify an alternate freight terms code if a customer’s account is past due.
Customer File maintenance
We have expanded the number of user defined field in the customer file from three to six. This required us to make a change on screen 4 of the file maintenance program. The user defined fields are now added/changed in a ‘pop up’ window.
Manifest Socket Inquiry
We added support for an alternate e-mail address that can be passed to a manifest system via TCPIP socket for sending ship confirmation. This address can be accessed/maintained in the customer file editor on screen 1 , field 19.
New Order Option
We added order option ‘_’ which causes the order entry program to disallow the use of the ‘/VA’ function (source a part from an alternate vendor). This is useful if you want to make sure that orders from a certain customer will never be filled from an alternate vendor for any reason (i.e. profit margins too low).
